On The Horizon - Creative Every Day

I felt like painting something with warm autumn colours 

to fit into a gold frame I have lying around at home...

and this is what I came up with. 

I'm quite happy with it, hope you all enjoy looking at it 

as much as I enjoyed creating it!!!

Monochrome Tree

I finished this oil painting last week and finally got around to taking a photo of it. I'm so proud of how this one turned out! It is definitely one of my favourite small paintings I've done so far. It is completely the opposite of the final idea I had in my mind...but aren't these pieces of art usually the best and most unique ones? The ones that just develop as you go and as your mood leads you.

My Top 10 Inspirational Quotes For The Day

I've been looking and looking for inspirational quotes, sayings and pictures all week, probably because I've been running a bit low on inspiration. This morning, searching inspiration on Pinterest, the idea hit me. I wanted to gather my Top 10 favourite quotes and re-design them using my own photos and artwork as backgrounds.

Sunny Sunflowers - Creative Every Day

Because it has been so cold and cloudy with winter approaching in South Africa, 

I decided to post these sunny Sunflowers for Creative Every Day this week.

The top pic is a pen & coloured pencil drawing I did a while ago and the bottom pic

is a photo I've taken recently of a sunflower in a bouquet of flowers my mom gave

to a friend for her birthday...just couldn't resist stealing a snapshot of it!

Yellow is such a happy, warm, feel good colour that I hope it gives everyone

reading this post a nice inspired feeling!

This quote really is inspiring to me.

We often doubt ourselves or let fear take over our dreams and goals and we

let go of what we want so much because we are afraid of change, failure or

whatever the case may be. 

Let's keep these words in mind next time an opportunity knocks on our door

and let's chase our dreams and make them come true!

So I'm going to participate and do the 30 Day Photography Challenge with her, 

starting 1 May 2013.

I will share each day's result on my blog so anyone reading this can follow 

and share in the fun.

Maybe we can just inspire someone else to super creativity!

This little Yellow Billed Duck had a lovely relaxing Sunday afternoon 

float on a pond at Rietvlei Nature Reserve. 

She groomed a little bit, then floated along, not bothered by anything.

She was definitely "At Rest".

Flower Power - Inspire Me Monday

This beautiful, orange Gerbera Daisy grew in our garden a few months ago and

one Sunday afternoon I decided to photograph it. I crawled around on the 

lawn and in the mud for hours trying to get a few good shots of it. 

This little flower intrigued and inspired me so much and I hope that it

will bring inspiration to all who read this post on this Inspire Me Monday!
